About

JasonWigley.com

This blog is where I post my odds and ends. I also write other blogs, but a lot of the time I’ll have an idea that I want to write out that just doesn’t fit. Before I set up JasonWigley.com I would be stuck when that happened.  I’d either have to skip the post or try to wedge it in somewhere it didn’t belong.

Since I started blogging most of the ill-fitting posts have been about blogging. So that’s what you’ll find the most of around here. Posts about blogging and the Internet. I’m not really in it for the money… well I’m mostly not in it for the money. I do dream of cashing Shoemoney sized checks thanks to blogging. What blogger doesn’t?

?-List

You won’t find me on the A-List of bloggers, or even the B-List. If I’m anywhere it’s probably a list that starts with letter that has that squiggly crap over the top of it. Yeah, I’m a É-List blogger.

Then

I’m still a beginning blogger, but I’m not new to computers or the web. I studied computer programming. I built web pages, though that was before CSS came along. That was back when tables were king and divs were a mad dream that would never catch on. Nothing much, just your basic homepage where I’d post weird little programs I’d written. Things like Star Trek screen savers based on the LCARS terminals from the show. I wish I still had that. I was proud of that program. It’s all gone now though, all that remains is a broken version on the wayback machine.

Now

Now that I have a web site of my own again I’m learning CSS as I go. I’m picking up a bit of PHP as well, thanks to WordPress. There’s some interesting stuff in there if you go poking around. Even learning as I go, WordPress has made what I wanted to do then so much easier for me to do now.

Fandom

One of my sites is still devoted to fandom, though it’s not limited to Star Trek. Fans of all sorts are welcome at Fanatic Space. I’m still trying to get it going. I have a blog set up over there where I talk about movies, TV, books and other fen interests. There’s also a forum that’s open for registration, though I’m still working on that.

In addition to my two sites I also write the 451Press anime blog, Anime Fans Online. I’m glad I signed up to write that blog. Interacting with the other bloggers over there has really helped me learn. Thanks to them I’m improving and learning more than I could alone.

Thank you for your interest. Don’t be afraid to join in. Being able to discuss things is what makes blogging great.
