Blogging Embers Forum

For me, the best part of being part of a blogging network was the community. I loved the blogging forum they provided. Being able to talk to other bloggers. Having a place I could go to ask questions, or help out when I had some answers. Now that network is on it’s way out and we’ve lost what made it great.

Disembodied Hands

There is another…

I decided to do something to prevent that loss. I’ve set up a forum on www.BloggingEmbers.com/forum/. (I’m setting up a redirect to Blogging-Embers.com so it doesn’t look so smooshed.) I decided to use /forum so there would be room for additions that the bloggers might want at some later date. Things like a job board, network listings or a section of blogger classified ads.

I hope that my friends from 451 will sign up, though I would understand if they decided against it. I also hope to make some new friends. Blogging Embers is open to all bloggers, not just the refugees from closed blogging networks.

That includes people who are new to blogging. I can tell you from the bottom of my heart that I learned a lot from talking to people, especially other bloggers. I’ve learned more than I could have possibly learned on my own. A forum like this is priceless. That’s why I can’t let it go without at least trying to hold things together.

If you have a blog, or if you’re just thinking about starting one, please join. If you have a friend with a blog, please let them know about the board.

Thank you.

MyBlogLog responds to account mixup.

In the last post I tried to warn you about possible danger to your MyBlogLog account. I wasn’t trying to scare anyone. I was concerned about the damage someone could do to your account if they didn’t realize it was the wrong one, or if they were just mean spirited.

To my surprise I actually got a comment from Ian Kennedy.

Hi Jason,

A handful of accounts were assigned to the wrong userID when we rolled in the Yahoo/MyBlogLog integration on Thursday. Please click on Contact Us in the footer of the page and we’ll get this sorted out for you.

Thanks,

Ian Kennedy

There you go. If you’re having trouble with your account use the “Contact Us” link. They’ll try to get it fixed.

I do have one other suggestion, if you’re having trouble logging into MyBlogLog. Try Firefox. For some strange reason MyBlogLog is working for me in Firefox now. I’m still having trouble with IE, no surprise, but at least I’m not landing in another person’s account. Now I’m being sent back to the login screen to try the merge over and over.

Your MyBlogLog account is in danger.

When I tried to sign into my account at MyBlogLog I found myself in the account of someone called “immortALance”. That is not my account.

Major security breach.
If you have an account at MyBlogLog, you’d better go check it out. I didn’t change anything for immortALance, but if someone else winds up in your account you might not be as lucky.

If you find that your account has been mixed up send an e-mail to MyBlogLog and let them know. They need to fix this. It is a major security problem. Any personal information in your account is in danger.

Why I started this blog.

I run FanaticSpace.com and write AnimeFansOnline.com for 451 Press, but I keep wanting to post things that don’t fit on either blog. So I decided to start a personal blog to catch all the miscellaneous stuff I want to post. I found out that the dot com version of my name wasn’t registered so I jumped on it.

Someone does have the dot eu version registered. Hi Jason! That doesn’t bother me though, because I don’t live in Europe. It doesn’t load for me, so I can’t see if it’s being used or not.

There are few categories at the moment, but that’s likely to change as I post stuff. I just added the ones I think I’ll be using the most.
